Babette's Corner: 7 Questions with Babette

(Hi, I'm Babette.  I'm Kate's sidekick. Every once in a while I get to share my voice and my stories on living a charitable life.  I hope you enjoy!)

Who are you? My name is Babette. I was born and raised in Memphis, TN. After completing high school, I was awarded a full athletic scholarship to Jacksonville State University in Alabama. I played four years of college tennis and got a degree in Communications.  While attending JSU I met a variety of people from all over the world and that has made me into the person I am today.

What were you doing a year ago at this time? This time last year I had just graduated from college and was looking for adventure. So, I moved to Atlanta to begin my career and meet new people.

What are some of your favorite causes you support? Anything with pets! I think pets are an amazing addition to have in your home as they bring so much personality and positive energy.  I am also passionate about issues surrounding Homelessness (as my boyfriend’s parents work with the homeless community in Atlanta), children, the environment and natural disasters.  I was personally affected by Hurricane Katrina as my extended family had to live through that difficult time.

Why is giving back important to you? Giving back to society means a great deal to me because as humans we are all living on this world together and it is important that we help each other as much as possible.  In the past five years I have met people from all over the world who all had lives different from mine, and their experiences shaped and changed my personal views.  I want to live my life in such a way that I can positively impact as many people as possible and help to make a difference.

What’s the best piece of advice you have ever received?  The best advice I ever received was to live one day at a time and to enjoy the present.  In my life I have a tendency to look too far ahead and I forget to enjoy the moment at hand, so I try and just enjoy each day.

What’s your professional dream: It changes from day to day. I come up with so many ideas on what I would like to accomplish in my lifetime but what really matters is that I want to make a positive impact on as many people as possible.

What do you like to do in your spare time? In my spare time I like to workout…. I’m a big fitness fanatic and when I’m working out is when I brainstorm the most as it helps clear my mind and let ideas flow. I also like playing tennis and enjoy being in the ALTA tennis league.

I suppose the reason is that we know all the circumstances that have occasioned them and so manage to excuse in ourselves what we cannot excuse in others.Replica Handbags Wholesale|
